From Disaster Relief to Culinary Excellence: The EFS Catering Journey

Welcome to EFS Catering, where our journey began with a story of resilience, compassion, and dedication. In 2007, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Rita, EFS Catering emerged as a beacon of hope and nourishment. The genesis of our company is deeply intertwined with the heroic efforts of Barb, my wife, who ran a Limousine company in New Orleans. She selflessly assisted government responders and officials with transportation, but it soon became evident that there was an urgent need for catering services.

Barb and I answered this call, providing sustenance to survivors and supporting city, state, and federal authorities for over five months. This marked the humble beginnings of EFS Catering. Inspired by our experiences, we invested in a 53-foot custom-built trailer, enabling on-site catering for various events and services, and thus, EFS Catering was officially born.

While our origins may trace back to hurricane relief efforts, our true calling quickly became clear: to serve our local community with exceptional catering. Although we still collaborate with organizations like JEA for storm response, our identity as a "hurricane caterer" has evolved into a rich tapestry of local culinary excellence.

In our nascent days, we were a small operation, consisting of just myself and a dedicated server borrowed from her grocery store checkout. Over the years, we reinvested in the business, expanding our capabilities, staff, and reach. Through our unwavering commitment to quality, stellar customer service, and delectable cuisine, we have grown steadily year after year.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges, but we weathered the storm by retaining our core staff. Today, we stand stronger than ever, having rebuilt and emerged from the crisis with newfound resilience.

In the past two and a half years, we have dedicated our company to Jesus Christ, instilling a renewed mission to serve our guests, team members, community, and God with love and unmatched hospitality. Our vision is to provide a secure future for our staff while nurturing an exciting Christian culture, striving for eternal significance beyond ourselves. As a company, our growth has allowed us to give back to the community through various charitable outlets. Organizations like Seamark Ranch for Boys and Girls, City Rescue Mission, Gateway Foundation, and Salvation Army have all benefited from our support, not only through food donations but also through our time and service.
